Willful destruction of property
A families fight to create alternative dialogue in the community..
Isn't it rich? The self-proclaimed champions of "inclusion and diversity" are working overtime to silence us. These unidentified, but clearly far-left extremists, have been tossing our papers in the trash, pressuring businesses not to carry them, throwing out stands, and now, in their latest act of “tolerance,” they've destroyed our private property, a stand at the local library. All this fuss, over what? Last month's paper covered topics like the dangers of poison aerial spraying, the importance of men's and children's mental health, and the challenges facing BC's power infrastructure. You'd think those committed to "diversity" would appreciate a range of perspectives, but apparently not. We've filed a report with the RCMP for these enlightened acts of “free speech” and are offering a reward to anyone who can help us identify these defenders of diversity as they work to crush a small, mom-and-pop business in the valley.
As a backstory, we started this paper to give a diverse voice to the valley, one rarely represented. One that challenges local government policies, and gives ‘another side’ to the discussion. We come from a mindset that welcomes all opinions and freedom of expression. Our heart and souls have gone into this paper, while we also raise our children, and have alternate jobs to maintain.
Edition 14- page 2:
We have persevered and stuck to our original mission, with the help from our private donors, our subscriptions, and our advertisers. The intimidation tactics are juvenile at best, however they are becoming tiresome and expensive. BUT - We will continue to be your voice - the alternative voice in the valley.
Those who censored free speech throughout history, never turned out to be the “good guys”.
Here is what the original, hand made by a local, stand looked close to :
And here was the willfully malicious damage done at the Library:
As we plow on, we wish these folks well, and hope the inspiration to destroy a small family’s work, turns into energy to do positive in our community instead.
So much gratitude to our community members -
