As your taxes continue to soar, it is imperative that you attend these meetings and ask the hard questions.

Here are the other upcoming meetings:

You have the legal right to ask for a breakdown of any line item or more details on spending in any sector - the budgets are complicated, even for the elected officials, and only getting more bloated by the year.

For instance you can search on their website and find a department such as Engineering (here ) and ask why there is a 20k upgrade for software each year ( for instance). It is a tedious task, that most do not have time for, and is probably designed to be that way, but if everyone just chose one department, they may get more feedback than they were expecting!

And finally, a really good rundown on the property tax scam. Though he is in the U.S. he says it is exactly the same in Canada. Maybe if people could organize, this could become a real push back here.
