New videos, additional petition, next N.C. meeting agenda

Happy Spring …finally !
First we would like to bring your attention to two parts on this weeks agenda that may be of interest to you .
One is a presentation from The Quamichan Neighbourhood Society asking for a tree bylaw.
While we believe in keeping our valley beautiful and treed, we know that these bylaws only effect builders and home owners. The fees and ‘getting permission’ from the government , let alone also having to hire an arborist, is just another over-reaching government bylaw. It is time that we fight back against the constant, ever increasing, chokehold every time we see these little pushes.
Please come have your three minutes, so graciously given to the peasants, to have your say Wed 5 pm, must get there early ( around 4:30 if there is a hot topic) as they will only allow 5 people to speak ( because democracy)… BUT you can stay home and link in via the phone and there is no limits to who speaks from the on-line platform.

Second the council is being asked to accept the use of gender neutral language as well as change “visible minority “ to “racializes” except ‘white people’. I didn’t know “White” and “Caucasian” were races ? Well according to Wiki, Caucasian was only used as a definition of physical bone structure and more (not skin colour). Wiki updated their page to : "White" refers to a person having origins in any of the original peoples of Europe, the Middle East or North Africa. It includes people who indicated their race(s) as "White" or reported entries such as German, Italian, Lebanese, Arab, Moroccan, or Caucasian.” ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/White_Americans) .
We also saw the application for N.C. environmental committee include preference to anyone non-white. Or, in other words, anyone not white “presenting”.

We hit the streets last week and it seemed that the children fully backed our petition to help create a bylaw removing open drug use in the community .
