Dear members,
We decided to do a quick special election edition before the BC elections.
We sent off questions to all candidates in our area, as well as 75% reduction in ad rates for this edition. Only the BC Conservatives decided to honour our questions and ad deals, while unfortunate others did not participate, you can take a look at the BC Con’s answers in this new edition! We did have an advocate for Independents write an article however.
We also have an exclusive that was sent to us regarding the possibility that we will have a rail system again on the island!
Sasha Izard wrote a great article on the Urban Development Institute and their influence over local munis.

Now that the election has passed, I recommend that we all take a few minutes to watch our new MLA in action at the Sept. 4,2024, meeting of the North Cowichan Council: <pub-northcowichan.escribemeetings.com> for three minutes from 3:00.00.
I trust that we can elect a suitable replacement.
