Provincial Employee loses His Job Over DEI

Did you miss our live last night?

Here is a little teaser from the Podcast we had last night…

Watch the full livestream here

We delved into the tax-payer DEI programs being presented to our Provincial Employees… and what can happen if you question the programs, as Nick did.

We discussed taxpayers dollars being used for these presentations, and ending the podcast reflecting on whether these initiatives do more harm than good, with Nick’s final inspirational words and reflections.

Is DEI, a big money program, actually causing more division in society ?

The end transcript :

“The study, Instructing Animosity: How DEI Pedagogy Produces the Hostile Attribution Bias, investigates the effects of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) training programs, particularly those emphasizing anti-oppression and anti-racism narratives. Researchers examined how exposure to DEI materials influences participants' perceptions of bias and discrimination.

Key Findings:

  • Participants exposed to DEI materials—such as works by Ibram X. Kendi and Robin DiAngelo—were more likely to perceive racism in neutral scenarios where no evidence of discrimination was present.

  • This effect, called "hostile attribution bias," led individuals to assume prejudice and support punitive measures against perceived offenders.

  • Similar patterns were observed in studies on anti-Islamophobia training and caste sensitivity training, where exposure to DEI content increased suspicion and calls for punitive action, even in situations without clear bias.

  • The study raises concerns that some DEI programs might backfire, fostering division rather than inclusivity, and reinforcing authoritarian mindsets that encourage social punishment rather than mutual understanding.

In short, while DEI programs aim to reduce discrimination, this research suggests that certain approaches may unintentionally increase hostility and division by making people more likely to assume bias where none exists.

Let's reflect on how these programs are divisive and keep us fighting against each other instead of the true oppressors.”

Sincerely,
