Petition - All Hands On Deck
A call out to the community - Say No To Facial Recognition In North Cowichan.
Hello Community members,
COAP knows how important little wins are going to be as we move forward, so along with our other initiatives, we have launched a petition against facial recognition in North Cowichan.
Communities all over the world are looking to little wins, and we are watching other areas, who are also watching us for ideas, and action plans.
We also know what is planned for us in the OCPs, Climate plans, and Transportation plans, so we thought we would get ahead of one of the soon-to-be policies we see already in place in other countries.
Our hope is to gather thousands of signatures over the next couple months to present to North Cowichan asking for a bylaw to be made against this software/hardware in our municipality.
You are welcome to sign the petition on-line as either a resident or a visitor to North Cowichan, but what would be even better would be to print the printable version off, and carry it in your vehicle, or bring to your store to get multiple signatures. When you feel you have gotten all you are able to, please either reach out to us and we will pick them up, or mail to P.O. Box 1037, 191 Ingram St. Duncan B.C.V9L 1N8
Let’s get a small win!

Last week COAP hit the streets to interview people and then went to council to present our arguments against one of the silliest letters sent to council so far.
Stay tuned for the videos of our day :-)
Have a wonderful weekend ,
The COAP team.
