Hello followers of the Ostrich story !
We were blessed to have been the first long form interview with this farm. As soon as we heard of the possible destruction, we uploaded the software needed, grabbed some amazing guests, and got the word our to our networks!
We jumped on to do the live January 18th knowing this was time sensitive. (Scroll through our Substacks to find the post past updates). We are so happy for the outcome!! But…we knew needed to follow up once again, as so many people have asked what the pause legally means.
Join us this Friday (Feb 7th) ! We will be asking Kari the details, and to clarify what this ‘pause’ on the cull actually represents legally, and what is needed from us all moving forward.

I spotted an item today (May 17, 2025) from the G&M (May 16) in which the Regional District of Central Kootenay refused CFIA permission to dump ostrich carcasses in their landfill.
Score one for civil decency and common sense.
