North Cowichan Wants Your Feedback
" We will fundamentally have to change the way we live and work" - Ex N.C. Councilor
Dear COAP members,
North Cowichan would like your feedback to a survey that is being shared all over groups like Transition Cowichan. As we have seen in the past, there tends to be one loud group of voices that provide almost all the feedback to these surveys. The point of COAP was to become another voice in the community, another “side”. If we want a true democracy , our government needs to hear BOTH sides in our valley.
We have heard from council members while we visited chambers that they do take into account how many letters they receive, as well as take surveys into account during their decisions.
There are new council members on all our local governments, and imagine if you only ever received letters and feedback from one ‘side’? I would assume you would feel that the majority of constituents felt one way and would act accordingly.
We see a massive acceleration in local ‘climate’ plans that will significantly change the way you live, farm, and work. Some days it feels like wack-a-mole, but we will keep doing our work to bring you information that you can then take action on if you so desire.
If you can take a moment to either fill out this survey, or write a letter to N.C. on this climate plan that would be great!

Where have we heard the phrase “the new normal” before? Odd that the CVRD is adopting this language.
Water will be one of the largest issues to come, not because there is no water, but because it will become restricted, metered, and rationed due to ‘climate’ fear-mongering.
This year N.C. removed the utility bills from the tax bill so they could bill separately, and most defiantly so that they can increase your water bill based on usage during “stages” of water restrictions in the very near future.
Last night N.C. voted on changing a water usage bylaw that has stricter regulations and fines.
Currently I know of three farmers who are having to fight for their water licenses.
Looks pretty normal .
If you control the water and food ….
If there was anticipated draughts, would we not build the infrastructure to hold water during our “record rainfalls” and “atmospheric rivers”? North Cowichan states that their over $400,000 Climate Action and Energy Plan, paid into by you for 10 years as a .5% tax, is for “climate action and emergencies” . They happily dole out massive grants to local NGO from this fund, but do not put in water contingency infrastructure?
Stage 3 water restrictions - N.C. :
You :
Enjoy the Summer weather before it will soon be “record rainfall” season :-)
_ Sincerely,
Adrienne - COAP Inc.
