North Cowichan and Clean BC, Public Engagement, Fireside Chat, And New Meet and Greet Date
It always starts with a 'choice' and 'incentives' .....
On Wednesday, March 20th, 5 pm (4:30-4:45 to sign in to speak) a regular council meeting will be held in North Cowichan Chambers.
North Cowichan was presented with a slideshow from BC Hydro in which they touted their ability to cover the power needed for the ‘fully electric’ future N.C. envisions would be fully covered.
We see N.C. swiftly moving towards this total electrification by ramming through step code 4 six years ahead of the province, essentially removing all-natural gas from new builds, and now will start pushing and paying for an ‘optional’ retrofitting narrative, which will eventually morph into mandatory retrofitting of homes, as per their Climate Action Plan. If you don’t stop it in its early beginnings….
Notice they even add ‘space heaters’ to the list …very in sync with Canada which is now looking to ban multiple types of space heaters because of some ‘incidences’ including “burns”.
All topics that can be spoken about to remain on-topic to this agenda item include:
The Climate Action and Energy fund - a tax paid by the taxpayers for 10 years for.. ‘climate’.
Anything ‘climate’ related - as that is the excuse for the tax, and the retrofits.
These ‘incentives’ will only benefit those who have the money to pay for the rest of the cost of these retrofits, not the low-income people who have to pay this tax without benefitting from the tax.
“Clean B.C.” program.
BC Hydro meeting their ability to service these new demands
Policies eventually lead to forced retrofitting… which is in their CAEP. N.C. was already approached with accelerating the retrofitting by a councilor up north as we spoke to a year ago:
We also laid out the plans in this article: https://wwind.ca/demonizing-single-family-homes/
